Southington, CT -REM Surface Engineering's Product Manager, Bill Nebiolo, was awarded the AESF National Award of Merit this past June. The Connecticut Branch of AESF, Mr. Nebiolo's local branch, nominated Mr. Nebiolo for this award. The National Award of Merit is given annually to anyone in the AESF who according to his/her peers, "has demonstrated significant contributions to improve the society whether at the branch or national level and whose contributions demonstrate a willingness to increase the knowledge of the membership or where those contributions are above and beyond the normal level of membership participation."
The honor was awarded at last June's NASF (National Association for Surface Finishing) Annual SUR/FIN conference (June 14-17, 2010). SUR/FIN is the annual conference and trade show organized by the National Association for Surface Finishing. As the surface finishing industry's premier event, professionals from around the world assemble to share ideas, experiences, and to solve surface finishing and manufacturing problems while improving productivity.
Mr. Nebiolo had this to say about the award, ""It is truly an honor and a privilege to think that my peers have viewed my efforts and have said that this fellow has made a difference, that his efforts are appreciated and that we feel he is worthy of this honor. But in my own mind, I've just tried to do the best job I could, never thinking that I would receive an award for those efforts. That makes the recognition all that more special."
As of this December, Mr. Nebiolo will have been a member of AESF for 32 years and is currently serving his nineteenth straight year as branch secretary. He also serves as branch Vice-Treasurer. Mr. Nebiolo has been a valued employee of REM for over 20 years and currently serves as REM's Product Manager and Sales Engineer. He is the author or numerous technical papers on surface finishing. Mr. Nebiolo is not the first REM employee to receive this honor; he joins REM employee Frank Tirendi as a REM recipient of the AESF National Aware of Merit.
