REM Surface Engineering’s Bill Nebiolo Selected TAC Committee Chairman for SUR FIN ’22

Brenham, Texas – Bill Nebiolo; TAE from REM Chemical, is serving at the NASF SUR/FIN ’22 TAC Chairman.  The TAC; Technical Advisor Committee, solicits abstracts for the annual technical sessions at SUR/FIN conferences.  The committee; a team of 14-members for assorted aspects of the metal finishing industry, review each abstract.  The abstracts are vetted and members will vote on the submissions.  The most favored submissions are then organized into educational technical sessions during the conference.  Conference attendees; in addition to visiting the show floor, can attend the technical sessions and be educated with outstanding professionals on the most current trends and requirements that are affecting the industry.

This year’s conference in Rosemont, IL will feature a total of 84 speakers in 12 sessions over two days.  Session tracks will cover new and innovative metal finishing technologies, aerospace developments including an entire track on zinc/nickel, automotive advancements especially as relate to the metal finishing adaptation to EV platforms, environment considerations related to treatment improvements and the handling of PFAS, light metals processing, hexavalent chrome free topcoats and sealers and many others.

Nebiolo is currently in his 45th year in the world of metal finishing and is 33-years with REM Chemical.  Prior to being employed at REM as a Senior TAE, Nebiolo was the Chief Electrochemist at the former Stanley Works Corporate Laboratories in New Britain, CT.  He was also the Laboratory Director at the former Nutmeg Chemicals.  Nebiolo serves as the Secretary of the Connecticut Chapter of NASF a role in which he is in his 31st year.  REM additionally holds a seat on the NASF SUR/FIN Steering Committee as the TAC representative, is a member of the NASF Board of Trustees Nominating Committee and member of the NASF Scientific Achievement Committee and has recently been appointed the Chairman of the Mass Finishing Job Shop Committee.  Bill is an NASF Fellow and three-time NASF Award of Merit recipient.

Bill joined NASF; then AES, at the former Waterbury Branch in 1978.  He served as the Waterbury Branch President during the 1984-1985 Meeting year and championed the merger of the former Waterbury, Hartford and Bridgeport Branches into the Connecticut Branch of AESF.  This has since been renamed the Connecticut Chapter of NASF following the 2007 reorganization of the society.
