FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Southington, Connecticut, (January 23, 2020) –REM Surface Engineering does it again and launches its latest innovation, Ferromil® Race Cut 552. REM Surface Engineering designed Ferromil® Race Cut 552 to meet the challenging needs required for surface finishing bearing surfaces. Bearing surfaces require low surface roughness and optimal surface texture to achieve maximum efficiency and component life.  Traditionally, bearing steels have been challenging to surface finish via chemically accelerated finishing technologies, leaving the industry to rely upon legacy, abrasive-only technologies with longer cycle times, high levels of solid waste generation, and the risk of abrasive particle impregnation.

“For these reasons, REM sought to develop a new product to address the surface finishing needs of the racing industry on bearing surfaces,” says Justin Michaud CEO.  “REM’s Ferromil® Race Cut 552 has been specially formulated to match with common racing bearing steels thereby allowing the benefits of the ISF® Process to be applied to racing bearing applications.  The ISF Process is known to create an optimized surface texture with low surface roughness and extremely high bearing ratios.  These bearing surface improvements allow for design and lubrication optimizations while reclaiming lost horsepower and increasing bearing component life.”
