FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brenham, Texas – REM Surface Engineering, a leading provider of advanced surface finishing solutions, is proud to announce its membership in the ASTM Consortium for Materials Data and Standardization.  The consortium is a strategic initiative under the Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AMCOE).  It is a collaborative effort led by ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) and aims to support the advancement of additive manufacturing (AM) through the development of standards, data generation, and best practices.  This partnership underscores REM’s commitment to advancing additive manufacturing technologies and fostering collaboration within the industry.

As a member of the Additive Manufacturing Industry Consortium, REM Surface Engineering will actively participate in collaborative efforts, research projects, and knowledge-sharing initiatives aimed at pushing the boundaries of additive manufacturing.  The consortium serves as a platform for industry leaders, researchers, and experts to collectively address challenges and drive innovation in the rapidly evolving field of additive manufacturing.

REM Surface Engineering, with its expertise in providing cutting-edge solutions for various industries, including aerospace, automotive, and medical, is well-positioned to contribute to the consortium’s mission of advancing additive manufacturing technologies.

Dr. Agustin Diaz, REM’s Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Manager shared, “I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Center of Excellence for Additive Manufacturing Research and Standard Consortium! It’s an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of standards that will unlock the full potential of 3D printing technology and enhance surface finishing for metal components.”

Justin Michaud, REM’s President and CEO, commented, “REM has be a strong advocate for the need to understand additively manufactured component material properties and to identify methods to both improve and quantify these properties for the past decade.  The mission of this Consortium is directly aligned with these beliefs and we look forward to supporting the ASTM along with the other members in our joint efforts to advance the AM industry as a whole.”
