PRESS RELEASE – REM Surface Engineering Announces the Ramp System H+

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Southington, Connecticut, (January 03, 2019) – REM Surface Engineering debuted its next-generation Extreme ISF® Process cell equipment offerings at the Formnext International Exhibition and Conference in Frankfurt, Germany (November 19 – 22, 2019).

REM introduced the Entry System™, Ramp System™, and Volume System™ initially targeting stainless steel alloys. All systems are based on REM’s chemically accelerated process technology widely adopted by leading industrial actors over the last 30 years. These post-processing cells achieve the highest quality finishes in short cycle times and low per piece costs when compared against other traditional mass finishing approaches.

Named to reflect the target audience, the range is designed to suit all volume requirements. Using a 50 x 50 x 50 mm (2 x 2 x 2”) generic component for comparison the following weekly production rates are viable:

  • Entry System = 30 – 40 components per week
  • Ramp System = 250 – 500 components per week
  • Volume System = >1,000 components per week

The Ramp System is available for purchase now and orders for the Entry System are set to begin at the end of January 2020. The Volume System with its significantly higher volume capabilities is slated for order at the end of Q3 2020.

These post-process surface finishing cells are pre-packaged systems to allow ease of adoption without having to compromise on the final quality over a broad range of components. All systems are backed by the vast surface finishing experience of REM and via extensive proving trials where thousands of metal AM components have already been processed in the Entry and Ramp Systems in REM’s processing centers.

REM’s Extreme ISF technology suite has already proven itself suitable for a wide range of metal alloys including 17-4PH, 15-5PH, and 316/316L, 4140 Steel, IN-625, IN-718, Copper, Al6061, A205, AlSi10Mg, Ti 6Al-4V, and it is agnostic to the build approach, showing equal levels of efficacy on Metal FDM/FFF, Binder Jet, DED, and PBF technologies. As part of REM’s commercial roadmap, new alloys will be made available for retrofit into REM’s commercial systems, and additional equipment configurations will be launched in 2020. Stay tuned for more information.
